#poetry - enter the scorpion (for Basho's frog)
an ancient pond
a frog jumps in
the splash of water
-Basho
had i bones i would aspirin them
had i conscience i would not need you
had i soul and still do have
there by the sword you are fine as you are
there with pulse you for granted play
there with a dab of this here stinger i kiss you
my drug the light and loss there of your eyes
my pre-echoing your acquiescent way
my right to bad in this ancient pond we sink
slow, quiet and with no splash.

demon well flapping hell
a well is darkness.
fallen angels live in hell.
but how can you tell?
well demons are dark
and their wings don't flap so well---
hell becomes their cell.
sell a demon tale
of darkness in well water---
look down, see the wings?
fallen angels live in hell.
but how can you tell?
well demons are dark
and their wings don't flap so well---
hell becomes their cell.
sell a demon tale
of darkness in well water---
look down, see the wings?

what stains wash away
black sheets' pictures---
X's on a calendar,
blue bottles and tears.
slanted sun light paint
X's row, an O appears
house burns across street.
petals wrap round bone,
black ties beside red goblets
sprinklers burst and sing.

the bloodlight below
swords fall on worm holes---
thin lightstreaks on rusty poles
russet blood sparkles.
worms below worms squirm,
blood frosting on rusty urns
knock! knock! knock! fingers.
green oil yellow soil.
blue tea kettle steams then boils.
strawberry crushed on toast.
thin lightstreaks on rusty poles
russet blood sparkles.
worms below worms squirm,
blood frosting on rusty urns
knock! knock! knock! fingers.
green oil yellow soil.
blue tea kettle steams then boils.
strawberry crushed on toast.
the love song nocturne
songs' blank canvas whistle
wind's closing arms bleeding
your bare rocking chair.
whistles, a padded cell
dark boughs break and fall, key hole
ice cubes melt a glass.
red crayon chalkboard,
socks shoes pants, fire o'clock
a stubbed cigarette.

"a drive to plymouth"
skyscrapers sinking
sun, cloudbursts on winter trees---
plymouth rock an ant.
icicle air grips,
upward toe steps, coffee shop.
eyes fixed, contact lens.
appetizers, bar.
plymouth people swarming,
older than we are.

"Sweet heart like candy"
Sweet heart like candy
Hard shell soft core all day long
Melts eventually
Melting snow inDenver
Sweet dew rising meets the day
Candy glowing sun
Hard shell soft core all day long
Melts eventually
Melting snow in
Candy glowing sun
Hard shells castana

A New Form of Poetry -- The Cube Haiku (or Cubist Haiku
here is one sample of the form
"summer day in cambridge"
dogs piss on your tree
roots bulge and smell like cement
and moss grows rampant.
cracked surface bulging
piss is king, dogs are jesters
children walk by mute.
children play hopscotch
dogs tied to poles, bark-sit-wait,
a lady trips and falls.
