drive to plymouth, after lennon
skyscrapers sink
and the red sun is gone
cloudburst on winter trees
cloudburst on winter trees
plymouth rock
in its glory is an ant
icicle air grips
icicle air grips
upward toe steps
and coffee house spills its guts
eyes fixed contact lens
eyes fixed contact lens
appetizers-bar
and plymouth people swarm
older than we are
older than we are
if they could see then
they would want it back
the gift of knowing
the gift of knowing
but they are blind and
so we can avoid
knowing showing
knowing showing
the wood of ship
became the wood of house
in the beginning
in the beginning
and in this house
the secret has remained
and now its ending
and now its ending
and now its ending
and now its ending
and now its ending
and now its ending

#poetry - come cibola
there in a dew drop! there is coronado!
he made one mistake and he went roller coaster---
he said "peeps down on your knees,
this here is my mountain i will do what i please."
what padre eyes saw! beaming all directions!
it was pueblo heaven, he was intoxicato,
he said "oh my jeez here in the breeze---
seven gates unlocked the life and knowledge of trees,
take cibola right now fast and free."
quite sad induction got them canyon splendor,
it was not a heaven! (?) it was loosy furlough! (?)
took them all down below the sea,
look up from your books now and forget your degrees---
was cibola's bright brow worth the fee?
and holy rollers backed conquistadoros,
they drank holy water! they wrought tomes of slaughter!
they said "for the cross and trinity,
make yourselves us-looking for we break unto thee,
come cibola flash now lastingly."

love, after lennon
i was feeling all alone
and my thoughts began to roam,
had somebody on my brain,
might have actually gone insane.
i didn't mean to love you,
i'm sorry and i don't know why.
and i don't want to love you,
i'm just helpless guy.
i was feeling through the past
and the wind was moving fast.
what a journey, what a train,
what a roadblocked memory lane!
how could it be i love you?
i'm honest now, i don't know why,
and still don't want to love you
but that's just a sigh.
i am feeling on the ball
and am deaf now to your call.
here with numbness, but no pain,
skin with scars but still no stain.
and here i am, though i love you,
no more thinking about the why.
it does no good to love you,
you're just a butterfly, a butterfly.
and my thoughts began to roam,
had somebody on my brain,
might have actually gone insane.
i didn't mean to love you,
i'm sorry and i don't know why.
and i don't want to love you,
i'm just helpless guy.

Generatta
I sit here, where Eliot could not,
Twenty floors above the street.
People below are color spots—
Trowsers, rolled? Flat-front or pleat?
Of their flesh is a matter of guess.
That they are human, a matter of faith.
What are they— What? Tsk tsk, sot—
I simply take note of their game,
Watching as the hawk eyes prey from afar
Through great lanes of land and air,
But I do not swoop, I lick my feathers clean
Of the knowledge my hawk eyes glean,
Here are not matters of pride or shame,
Here is only a question of how to compare
One spot to another, high above it all—
I do not swoop because swooping involves me,
And well, you see,
The twenty floors between,
Naturally, disinterest me.

Happy Birthday Bobb Trimble!!
Today is Bobb Trimble's birthday. Happy Birthday Bobb!! I'm not telling how old he is exactly, but his music is timeless. Who is Bobb Trimble? He is one of my favorite musicians. Let's see, there's John Lennon, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Elliott Smith and Bobb Trimble.I first learned of Bobb Trimble three years ago after my friend Karina DaCosta, of 28 Degrees Taurus, met him during a listening party at The River Gods in Cambridge for Harvest of Dreams and Iron Curtain Innocence. She heard the music, bought the CDs and played them for me. I fell in love in the first measure.
His music is sometimes classified as psychedelic rock, though psychedlic-folk rock may be a more appropriate categorization. In 1980, Bobb Trimble hailed from Wormtown and was a central figure in the music scene there. Wormtown is a nickname for Worcester, Massachusetts and is a badge worn with pride by the Wormtown group of musicians who supported each other's development in the early 80s. Among the group are Bobb Trimble and the Pre-Fab MessiahsHe was quiet for awhile, but Bobb has been active since the re-release of his albums in 2007. Karina DaCosta is a sometimes vocal guest. Also you will find Kris Thompson, of Pre-Fab Messiah fame, in Bobb's new line-up. Bobb's new group is called the Flying Spiders. Bobb Trimble and The Flying Spiders are playing a show with 28 Degrees Taurus this Saturday at PA's Lounge in Somerville.
Check him out---and for his birthday, and yours, buy his albums. I guarantee you will be happy with the investment.
